I'm looking for a consumer video editing application - any recommendations?

OK, so I have a need to edit some simple HD video which I have taken using a point and shoot with full HD (1024p) which is in .mov (quicktime) fromat. I'm trying out a couple of consumer video editing applications: So far I've tried the following two: Corel VideoStudio Pro X4, and Magix Movie Edit Pro MX. Any body have any other recommendations. From using the trial versions - the Magix offering certainly seems to be very smooth (not jerky) and easy to use. I don't have a very powerful PC, running Windows 7 - and video editing is not something I want to spend that much time doing. I'm not interested in any pro tools like Adobe Premier or After Effects - I don't need them or the expense.

Try Vegas MS HD Platinum or Premiere Elements, consumer apps also w/ Pro counterparts

- personally I find Vegas* much easier to use, but started out with Premiere Pro (w/c provides very good basics on editing)

You can try one month free together with (Vegas) Architect for DVD authoring (/burning).

I agree with TiddiVisual - Vegas Movie Studio and Premiere Elements are both good choices. Serif's Movie Plus is worth a look too.

See if your computer can work within these Specifications, but if you want no jerky motions in your HD video, double or triple these for good action with your HD video.
