I have a Kodak V1073 touch screen and I take it with me to concerts to film. I don't know why but at concerts where there is a lot of bass being used, the audio on my camera cuts out or makes a loud noise on the recording that is not part of the music.

I have a few of examples on my youtube channel of vids i have posted with this audio problem. please diagnose and, if you can, tell me how to solve or fix the problem.

You camcorder is not ideal for recording concerts as you can tell. It's not you or the process you used to upload to YouTube. Consumer grade camcorders, and many pro camcorders are not good for recording great audio. A better way is to either use an external microphone or even better yet, use a separate digital recorder with a decent mic. Then you can edit the audio and video together later. You could re-edit the original video and try and adjust the audio there. You just need an video editing program that has that feature.

If you go to another concert, you might try sitting back away from the deepest and loudest speakers.

The audio "priblem" is cause by the loud audio over-driving the camcorder's "automatic audio gain control" because it was not designed to deal with extreme audio levels.

You need a way to control the audio level getting onto the recording media. Most consumer grade camcorders and cameras do not have any way to control the audio gain. There are a few low-end Sony (MicRefLevel) and Canon (Mic Attenuation) consumer camcorders that do - check the camcorder manuals to be sure these menu items are available in the camcorder.

The least expensive camcorder I know of with half decent audio control is the Canon HV40.

Your other option is rto record the audio separately using a field recorder like those from Zoom, Tascam, Edirol, M-Audio, Sony, and many others. They all have manual audio gain control and audio level meters. When you edit the video, replace the poor audio captured with the camera with that captured by the field recorder. Synch the audio. Mute the camcorder's audio...

there's a device called a synchronizer - it replaced right into a chain of wheels with sprockets. you place the action picture interior the 1st music, have been given the physique you wanted interior the appropriate spot and then laid the sound tracks interior the subsequent wheels. you may desire to truly p.c.. up any between the tracks and circulate it a physique or 2, you may desire to circulate the wheels independently of one yet another to hold the sound as much as the place it mandatory to be to journey the action picture physique. in fact did this via hand. After it replaced into all in sync with matching front and tail leaders you blended it into one music, checked the sync then the lab transfered it to the magnetic stripe on the action picture.
