Hi

It seems to take hours to make a DVD, is there a quicker way?

First I capture the video from my mini dv tape camcorder, then I use windows movie maker to edit it and add sounds etc, save it as a WMV file and I then save it as a Movie onto my computer. Next I have to use Nero to convert it to DVD format and then burn the conversion onto my PC internal DVD drive. Is there not a way to make a DVD direct from windows movie maker or can Nero use the WMV file diret?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks 10 points best answer

After editing everything in WMM, click publish to DVD. It will publish it directly to the dvd if you have a blank dvd in.

Hope I helped!

you can do the whole thing through Nero, capture, edit and burn to dvd, you are better of not saving the video as a WMV its a horrible video format, as you are editing AVI files when you come to export the video export it as an AVI, WMV is compressed, then you are going to recompress it to your dvd as a VOB file. Always leave the video as it was captured ( but edited) you are going to get the best results. nero will import many formats,

Nero Vision I think is better than WMM anyway, but thats your choice, it does take time to convert the video and burn it to your DVD, dont expect it to be done in ten minutes. even on my system Built for editing and producing video it takes some time.

Good luck

You may try convertxtodvd, I always use it to convert and burn wmv video to DVD for playback, it takes about 30 minutes to burn a two hours movie, I think the burning speed is fast than nero. If you are interested in it, here is a guide about how to download and use it

Hope it helps, email me if you need further help.

I think you can try this easiest-to-use DVD burner software/DVD Movie Creator software that can help you convert movies to DVD and burn DVD movie to DVD disc, DVD folder and ISO files, being played on portable or home DVD players.

It allows you to create special and personalized DVD movies, combine your video collections into video slideshows with beautiful transition effects, customize them with menu template, and add background music, pictures at your Choices; by the way of this DVD Creator you also can edit your video files in your style by cropping, trimming and video effect adjusting, setting watermark, etc.
