Hi,

I'm planning to buy Panasonic HMC40 camcorder, it records in AVCHD.
My PC is Intel Core 2 duo 3 GHZ , 3GB Ram ,500GB hard disk ... Kindly suggest me whether my PC will edit the AVCHD files easily ?.....

I am not sure if you CPU is 32 or 64bit. if its 32 then you are stuck with the ram, if you have a 64bitcpu then bang in some more ram, maybe 6gb, (not that expensive) and add another hard drive to use as a scratch drive for your videos it will speed everything up



Also the software you are using is important, never use the minimum requirements always better it.

Perhaps Windows Movie Maker can't do that, however, with AVCHD Video Converter, you can edit the AVCHD files.

Sorry, can't tell. AVCHD is a secret codec with no published specs. You might want to check out instead editing software for computer requirements. Won't be cheap, as software developers have to pay a huge licensing fee to get "in" on the secrets.
