JVC Camcorder BN-VF808U SD CARD ERROR?

Question

Ok so i ordered a SD on Amazon i i got it in the mail today the SD card says nothing on it except MicroSd Adapter and these 2 arrows. The 1st SD card i had was a Samsung one and it said " Card Error" but that one was old so i threw it away and ordered a new one this one came in today. I put the card into my camera and (the SD is 4gb) there are 2 buttons one that says memory and one that says video so i put it on memory and it said CARD ERROR then i put it on Video and it said NO TAPE the reason i put it on memory in the first place was because i thought i could put it on my laptop and edit the video but when i put in on Memory it says CARD ERROR

1. Is my camcorder to old
2.did i buy the wrong card
3. If i put the camera on memory will it save to the SD card
4. Or i have to buy a tape
Also i do not have the manual i found this camera a while back and bought a battery for it and stuff just do not have the manual.

if this is a miniDV recorder, then it does NOT use a microSD card, period. it would use a standard size SD card, one that is 2 GB or less, and that just for still photos. the video goes on miniDV tape cassette and is transferred to your computer using a DV cable to the computer's ieee 1394 serial data port.

I'm not sure but did you buy an sd adapter? That is not an actual card.

Mini dv camcorders use a tape to record videos and memory cards to take pictures. You can't record on to a memory card.
