Sony DCR-TRV 460 camcorder. Have firewire cable. Have firewire port. Have Windows 7, but don't know if it came with Windows Movie Maker. Would like to convert Hi-8 tape to computer and burn DVD,

Hi, I guess sony camcorder video cannot be recognized by windows movie maker. It probably capture videos in hd videos. So you may need a video converter to convert sony camera video to wmm compatible wmv, avi. Recommend you one which can help you to convert your video to HD wmv for maintaining the Original quality.

You can send your 8mm tapes out to be converted to DVD, it will cost about £12.50 - Single DVD holding up to two hours of video. Too expensive!
